Halo everyone!

That's Lily Cole at an awards function in London. In case you are wondering that's a Prada baby doll dress. But that's not what's in focus. The headband worn in a hippie style had me. I have always admired the 70s style hippie headbands but there's something about the time and weather that I am so in the 'bands phase'. A dirt cheap accessory, hoard on and you'd have still spent so less as your weekly spend on toilet paper. A bad comparison aside, these headbands add an instant oomph and fun factor to your look. Experiment with colours. Don't go the match routine. Here I have uploaded pics of a few celebrities who totally rocked the hippie band.

PS: I have by now 6 bands in different colours and if you can't buy one, wear one of your neckpieces as headbands.

Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl fame teams a corset with Denimocracy jeans. it's screams rant from top to bottom. Especially that unzipped style on the navel. I don't blame the actress for the disaster. With collections like these (see pics below), you can't really get it right anyway. Don't know how this California-based brand is makes profits.

Louboutin lovers

The longest, tallest heel made by renowned shoe designer Christian Louboutin is 22.5 centimetres. Two of my favourite meals. But one bite (into either) and it spills, topples, spreads like a pack of cards. Why on earth is it so difficult to fully, completely enjoy something. Why oh why, do they have to be monstrous to us? Why can't they just huddle together while they are being consumed? Why do they have to fall out? No one taught about teamwork or what? Humfff!!!

A look at the picture and I had a fashion zzzz moment. Sonakshi Sinha is quite a stunner but somehow she completely kills the high-waisted shorts trend. The look isn't meant for her. It looks more like grandma pants cut short. Nothing high fashion about it, considering she is now the brand ambassador of Provogue, the clothing line. High waist shorts is a tricky trend. Brit designer Vivienne Westwood wants all fledgling designers and stylists to pick up a tome if they are looking for success. Rightly said by the punk designer, now 69; "This is the secret: reading. A young person might be talented and can make two great collections, but then they dry up. You have to have culture. If not, where do you get your ideas? If you don't understand the past, you don't understand the world. By knowing what has been done, you know what's possible."
One of the designer's line showcased way back in 1983 was titled Witches. Westwood had then mentioned her inspiration - A book on voodoo magic. I happened to see a few classic pieces from the collection. Particularly like the wool jacket below. So edgy!

It's strange how much the two plastic beauties (from Bolly and Holly) look alike. One, an item girl from the world of Indian television and the other a 'claimed-to-be American socialite'. Alas, the surgeon did a slipshod work and referred to the standard shapes for nose, lips and cheeks. I can say with assurance, India at least wouldn't want a replica of Rakhi Sawant. One is more than enough to 'watch'.

If you are a dresses and a skirt person like me, do not discard your denims yet. It works as a wonderful measuring scale, especially for the hit list zone-the tummy. Tried mine today and had to breathe out for the longest time to stick myself in. A quick step on the weighing machine and I saw, to my horror, I have gained five kilos. Had it not been for these jeans, I would have been happily gluttoning on ham and cheese slices, chocolates and cups and cups of coffee. Time for a reality check!
